GWM x Cape Pioneer Competition 

Terms and Conditions 

Promoter 

This competition is organised and promoted by GWM South Africa ("the Promoter"). 

Competition Period 

Entries to the competition open on 12 August 2026 and close on 19 August 2026
Entries received before or after the stated competition period will not be considered. 
Incomplete, invalid, or fraudulent entries will not be considered. 

Prize

The prize consists of one (1) Solo Entry to the 2026 Cape Pioneer, a five-day mountain biking event taking place from 22–26 September 2026

The prize excludes: 
● Travel to and from the event  
● Accommodation, unless expressly stated by the Promoter  
● Bicycles and cycling equipment  
● Personal clothing and cycling gear  
● Medical expenses beyond those provided as part of the event entry  
● Personal spending money  
● Any other costs associated with participation unless expressly stated by the Promoter  

The prize is non-transferable, non-refundable, and may not be exchanged for cash or any other alternative. 

Eligibility 

This competition is open to South African residents aged 18 years or older
Participants should be in adequate physical condition to participate in a multi-day mountain biking event. 

Employees, directors, agents, contractors, affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising agencies of the Promoter, and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter. 

How to Enter 
To enter, participants must: 
1. Follow @CapePioneer and @GWMSouthAfrica on the social media platform where the competition is hosted.  
2. Tag a friend in the comments of the competition post.  
3. Share the competition post to their Story and tag @CapePioneer and @GWMSouthAfrica.  

Only one entry per person will be considered. 

Entries generated by automated means, bots, or fraudulent activity will be disqualified. 

Winner Selection and Notification 

One (1) winner will be selected through a random draw from all valid entries received during the competition period. 

The winner will be announced and contacted on 20 August 2026 via direct message on the social media platform used to enter the competition. 

Should the winner: 
● Not respond within seven (7) days of notification;  
● Be unreachable after three (3) contact attempts; or  
● Be found to be ineligible,  
The promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner. 
The Promoter may require the winner to provide proof of identity and eligibility before awarding the prize. 

Publicity 

By entering this competition, participants agree that the Promoter may use their name, image, likeness, social media handle, and any competition-related content for promotional, publicity, and marketing purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. 

General 

The Promoter's decision regarding any aspect of the competition is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into. 

The Promoter reserves the right to amend, suspend, postpone, or cancel the competition and/or prize at any time should circumstances beyond its reasonable control make this necessary. 

The Promoter accepts no responsibility for: 
● Technical failures or malfunctions;  
● Lost, delayed, incomplete, or misdirected entries; or  
● Any injury, loss, or damage incurred because of participation in the competition or acceptance of the prize.  

By entering, participants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. 
This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), or any other social media platform. 

Privacy 

Any personal information collected from participants will be used solely for the administration of this competition and the allocation of the prize. 

Personal information will be processed in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 ("POPIA"), and will not be shared with third parties except where necessary for the fulfilment of the prize or where required by law. 
 
Governing Law 

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from the competition shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
