Supply Chain & Logistics – Inbound Operations (Receiving & Put Away)
Purpose Of Position:
The Dispatch Team Leader is responsible for managing day-to-day dispatch activities, including order scheduling, transportation planning, team supervision, and compliance with quality and safety standards. The role ensures that customer orders are dispatched accurately, carriers are utilised effectively, and all outbound operations align with service-level expectations and OEM quality standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
● Matric/Grade 12 (required)
● A diploma or certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Warehouse Operations (advantageous)
Skills And Experience:
● 3–5 years’ experience in warehouse or dispatch operations
● At least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or team leader role
● Experience working in an OEM parts or fast‑moving distribution environment (advantageous)
● Experience coordinating transport providers and delivery schedules
● Ability to handle complex and difficult situations

Key Duties And Responsibilities:
Dispatch Operations Management
● Ensure accurate and timely dispatch of customer orders according to daily schedules.
● Coordinate with transportation partners to optimise loads, routes and delivery times.
● Monitor order queues, resolve dispatch delays, and escalate issues when required.
● Verify documentation (delivery notes, manifests, invoices) for accuracy before outbound movement.
● Ensure compliance with OEM packaging, handling and quality standards.
Team Leadership
● Supervise, coach and motivate the dispatch team to meet productivity and accuracy targets.
● Oversee daily task allocation and roster planning.
● Conduct regular team briefings to communicate priorities and performance expectations.
● Support training and skills development of dispatch staff.
System & Process Management
● Maintain accurate dispatch records in the WMS/ERP system.
● Ensure scanning, labelling and order tracking processes are correctly followed.
● Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
● Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as OTIF and dispatch accuracy.
Customer & Stakeholder Interaction
● Communicate with internal departments (Customer Service, Warehouse) to resolve delays or order discrepancies.
● Liaise with transport service providers and ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
● Assist with customer queries related to dispatch, delivery times, or order issues.
Safety, Compliance & Housekeeping
● Enforce adherence to health, safety and environmental policies.
● Conduct regular dispatch area inspections to ensure compliance and cleanliness.
● Ensure proper handling and loading of parts to avoid damage.
● Participate in audit preparation and corrective action processes.
● Any other ad hoc tasks or projects required from time to time
