Quality Controller – Parts Distribution Centre

Function

Supply Chain & Logistics – Inbound Operations (Receiving & Put Away)

Purpose Of Position:

The Quality Controller is responsible for ensuring that all OEM parts received, stored and dispatched meet the organisation’s quality standards and manufacturer specifications. This role safeguards product integrity, supports operational efficiency, and maintains customer satisfaction by preventing defective or non-compliant parts from entering the supply chain.

Minimum Qualifications:

● Matric/Grade 12 (required)

● A certificate or diploma in Quality Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Mechanical/Automotive disciplines (advantageous)

Skills And Experience:

● 2–3 years’ experience in quality control within an automotive, manufacturing or distribution centre environment

● Experience handling OEM or aftermarket parts (preferred)

● Exposure to warehouse inventory management processes

● Committed to a win-win approach

Key Duties And Responsibilities:

Quality Inspections

● Conduct incoming inspections of OEM parts against purchase orders, supplier documentation, and quality specifications.

● Inspect outgoing orders to ensure accuracy, completeness and damage-free dispatch.

● Perform visual, dimensional and functional inspections where required.

● Identify, record and classify defects in line with company standards.

Compliance and Documentation

● Maintain accurate inspection records, reports and documentation on quality findings.

● Ensure compliance with OEM standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.

● Support internal audits and assist in updating quality procedures.

Non-Conformance Management

● Quarantine defective, damaged or incorrect parts.

● Capture and report non-conformances to procurement, suppliers or warehouse leadership.

● Support corrective and preventive action processes (CAPA).

Stock Handling Support

● Assist with cycle counts, bin verifications, and stock integrity checks

● Work with warehouse teams to ensure correct labelling, storage and handling of parts.

Continuous Improvement

● Provide feedback on recurring quality issues and propose process improvements.

● Participate in quality review meetings and contribute to operational efficiency projects.

Health, Safety & Housekeeping

● Adhere to all safety procedures and report hazards or unsafe conditions.

● Maintain a clean and orderly inspection area.

● Use inspection tools and equipment safely and responsibly.

● Any other ad hoc tasks or projects required from time to time
