Product Trainer

Reporting to: Dealer Network Development Manager

Job Purpose:

The Product Trainer is responsible for developing and delivering product knowledge training across the GWM dealer network. The role ensures that dealership sales consultants, management teams, customer experience personnel and relevant support staff have a comprehensive understanding of GWM current and future products.

The Product Trainer will support new product launches, product updates, sales process improvement, and dealer performance initiatives by delivering engaging training programmes that enhance product knowledge, customer experience and sales effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Training Delivery

● Deliver product training programmes to dealer sales teams, dealership management, and support staff.  

● Conduct classroom, online and on-site training sessions.  

● Facilitate new model launch training and product update sessions.  

● Ensure dealership personnel maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and future vehicle ranges.  

● Provide practical vehicle walkarounds and demonstration training.  


Vehicle Launch Support

● Develop and execute training plans for all new vehicle launches.  

● Coordinate launch training events and regional roadshows.  

● Train dealership staff on key product features, benefits, technologies and competitive advantages.  


Training Material Development

● Develop and maintain:  

    ○ Product training presentations  

    ○ Product guides  

    ○ Sales reference materials  

    ○ Competitive comparison documents  

    ○ E-learning content  

    ○ Product knowledge assessments 

    ○ Ensure all training materials remain accurate and current  


Sales Enablement

● Assist dealers in effectively positioning GWM products against competitors. 

● Train staff on feature-benefit selling techniques.  

● Support the implementation of OEM sales processes and customer engagement standards.  

● Provide coaching to improve product presentation and demonstration skills.  


Product Knowledge Assessment

● Conduct regular product knowledge evaluations and assessments. 

● Monitor dealer training completion rates.  

● Identify training gaps and implement corrective action plans.  

● Maintain training records and certification databases.  
 

Competitive Analysis

● Monitor competitor products and market developments.  

● Prepare competitive product comparison reports.  

● Train dealer staff on competitor strengths and weaknesses.  

● Ensure dealers can confidently position GWM products within the market.  
 

Dealer Network Support

● Conduct regular dealership visits to assess training effectiveness.  

● Provide ongoing coaching and support to dealership teams.  

● Work closely with Dealer Development and Sales.  

● Assist underperforming dealerships with targeted product and sales training interventions. 
  

Digital Learning & Reporting

● Develop webinar and virtual training content.  
 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

● Dealer training completion rates  

● Product certifications pass rates  

● New model launch training completion  

● Dealer satisfaction scores relating to training 

● Improvement in product knowledge assessment results  

● Training attendance and engagement levels 

● Dealer sales performance support initiatives delivered 

Experience:

● 3–5 years' experience within the automotive industry.  

● Experience in product training, sales training, dealership operations or OEM training.  

● Previous experience within an OEM environment will be highly advantageous.  

● Experience delivering presentations and facilitating training sessions.  

Technical Skills:

Essential

● Strong presentation and facilitation skills  

● Excellent verbal and written communication 

● Microsoft PowerPoint 

● Microsoft Excel (Intermediate)  

● Microsoft Teams and virtual training platforms  

● Ability to explain technical vehicle features in a customer-friendly manner  


Preferred

● Learning Management System (LMS) experience 

● Video content creation and e-learning development  

● Knowledge of hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric vehicle technologies  

● Automotive sales process knowledge
