Product Marketing Specialist

Reporting to: Head of Marketing

Job Purpose

To plan, manage and monitor the implementation of all product activities and processes to deliver on product go-to-market strategies.

Minimum Requirements:

● A relevant 3-year tertiary qualification in Business Administration or Marketing

● 3 - 5 years' experience in a similar role within the Automotive industry

● A broad understanding of the Automotive industry

● A valid South African driver's licence

Responsibilities:

● Formulating product strategies to enhance sales and capture market share. Developing counter and first-move strategies to stay ahead of our competitors.

 ○ Model specification setting

 ○ Grade strategy development

● Specification selection based on available new technologies as well as emerging technologies. Liaising with dealers and customers as to what specifications are critical to customer satisfaction.

● Product Plans – Developing detailed product plans per product line.

● Pricing Models – Building models to determine the optimal price of products.

● Research and Monitoring – Competitor analysis and conducting research to stay abreast of consumer and competitor trends. Developing research proposals and briefs.

● Relationship Management – Sourcing information from our regional headquarters as well as maintaining a professional working relationship with all stakeholders.

● Target Market Analysis – Customer profiling.

● Data Mining

● Project Management – Ensuring standard lead times are met and the management of various task associated with vehicle launches.

● Brand Reviews – Studying product, specification, trim and model effectiveness and suggesting improvements based on research results.

● Develop strategies for new products which are in line with the company's goals and which complement the overall product line-up.

● Positioning - Ensure positioning of products is based on consumer needs and ensuring it complements the overall brand image.

● Work closely with Marketing to collaborate on product launch and promotion strategies.

● Creating lifecycle plans to keep products relevant.

● Presenting findings to Management.
